Is It Time For Rehab Yet? Going to rehab can seem like a radical thing to do. It is one thing to admit we have a ‘bit of a problem’, but isn’t residential treatment only required for the most serious cases? Even if family or friends are advocating this type of help, we can still feel resistant to the idea – as well as resentful that it is being suggested at all. Subjectively determining our needs in regards to addiction treatment can be tricky, and there is a real risk that we will underestimate the amount of support and help that is required. If we were diagnosed with cancer, we would probably want the best treatment available, but subtle denial means we can fail to see how the same applies to an addiction (which is equally serious). How Do I Pay For Drug Rehab? It is very unlikely that anyone has ever saved up a fund just in case they ever needed to go to some form of addiction treatment, codependency therapy, or drug rehab. We hear of college funds, but no parent ever plans on their child needing addiction treatment. Addiction is an equal opportunity disease Addiction in it’s various forms and expression is an equal opportunity disease. Addiction cares not whether you have a doctoral level education.
