The Journey Beyond Sobriety: How Serenity Vista Helps You Discover a New Life Vision
Serenity Vista, International Holistic Drug Rehab in Panama is pleased to welcome Maya, coming to join us all the way from Switzerland to complete a few months internship at drug rehab to learn about how Residential Addiction Treatment works. She will work with our guests who suffer from alcoholism, nicotine and other drug addiction, gambling, food and workaholism. We are grateful that Maya contacted us, and wants to spend some time in Boquete, in the Republic of Panama.
Six months ago, my plans for university changed. I didn’t know where I was going. I had to let go of my planning, of wanting to control everything and mostly, stop believing I was the only one deciding where I must go. I had to accept that things were changing in a way I hadn’t planned out. I was cut off guards and left completely lost. But underneath all of this, it was only my ego that was hurt because now, something was going to change and a part of me was resisting change. Our ego doesn’t feel secure when change occurs without its approval because that means, it’s not in control anymore of the unfolding of the events.
It’s interesting to realize that we have a pretty deep conditioning that wants to control what will happen to us, how it will happen, and lastly what we will gain from things. Since all my references were getting completely revisited, I didn’t really have another choice except letting go and take a leap of faith.
Interestingly, our ego has a hard time giving our trust to life and not something concrete. Our minds try so hard to understand things that are just not understandable with our minds. The heart is wise when we let it rise above our ego and guide us.
But in order for it to guide us, we need to give it our entire trust and this is sometimes very hard to do because we are left facing a completely unknown road, like the fish on the picture diving into a new pot.Ironically, the minute I stopped looking desperately for a solution, the solution came to me like an obvious answer. I think when we stop going against situations, new opportunities, we never thought possible, arise. No matter what the reality we are facing, the only thing we can really do is stop resisting the change and go with the flow.
Doing an internship at Serenity Vista came out of nowhere but feels just right. What I want to share with you is an example that shows how when you are in a state of grace, with gratitude for what you have, certainty of what you want, clearness of your goals, and the will to do your part, amazing opportunities can come your way.
So, perhaps we need to change some of our beliefs about how the universe works. What if what we believe to be true about ourselves in the inside is what gets mirrored back to us through our external circumstances? All in all, maybe there is not as much as we think there is for us to do but more a way for us to be in order to attract what we want in our life. Definitely something to reflect on.
All I can say is that Serenity Vista came to me when I was trusting life beyond my mind and this adventure is starting in 3 weeks and I am very excited.~ Maya
