The Journey Beyond Sobriety: How Serenity Vista Helps You Discover a New Life Vision
Many newcomers to recovery get really stuck on this concept of a Higher Power. Addicts or alcoholics seeking help for their food, alcohol, nicotine or other drug addiction often feel like they come to a screeching halt when they see the word GOD in the 12 Steps. That is OK, and pretty normal. Remember, it is God as you understand Him. Or Her. Or It. Or Them.
The Steps will work for you too, 100% of the time if you can use the three tools referred to as H.O.W. Honesty, Open-mindedness and Willingness. Be honest that your way hasn’t worked, be open-minded that maybe the Steps will work for you too, and be willing to do what is suggested in the recovery program. The great news is that if you are seeking a Higher Power, you have already found Him/Her/It/Them, because the finding is in the seeking. Relax and don’t try so hard on spirituality. Save your hard work for the upcoming action steps. If you are seeking a rehab facility that uses a holistic approach to recovery, that has excellent and passionate therapists, fantastic fresh food, a loving and playful dog companion, clean air and green mountain vistas that also uses the 12 Steps and the local recovery community as support, then consider Serenity Vista in Panama.
At Serenity Vista, you will be exposed to a variety of ways to experience your personal connection with spirit. Non-religious, but spiritual. Your own personal conception of higher power. If you have a personal belief or tradition based in a religion such as Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, or Native Spirituality, that is fine, and we will work with you, wherever you are, to further develop and deepen that connection. Some have no religious belief or affiliation. Some have rejected the religion they were exposed to in youth. Regardless of your belief, or lack thereof, we will work with you and help you explore your own personal beliefs.
You will be supported in your own spiritual exploration, but will not experience religious teaching or preaching. Spiritual concepts you may be interested in exploring include teachings of spiritual teachers such as Adyashanti, Dr. Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Ramana, Nisargadatta, Louise Hay, Ram Dass, Abraham-Hicks (Law of Attraction; The Secret), Don Miguel Ruiz (The Four Agreements), Eckhart Tolle ( e.g. Power of Now), and others.
We would love to talk with you about your spiritual journey, your recovery, or help for a loved one.
